Alcorcón launches protected housing registry and 29 million euro investment plan

The Alcorcón City Council has launched a new Registry of Applicants for Protected Housing to create a public database of residents interested in municipal housing policies. Mayor Candelaria Testa stated that the registration process will remain open without a fixed deadline, allowing citizens to express interest in future specific calls for housing applications.

To support these initiatives, the municipality plans to invest approximately 29 million euros into housing and neighborhood improvements. Key allocations include 12 million euros for the development of Retamar de la Huerta to advance the construction of 1,200 public homes, and 10 million euros for purchasing properties in the city center to establish a Youth Housing Plan. Additionally, 2 million euros will be used for the right of first refusal in Ensanche Sur to increase the public housing stock.

Registration can be completed in person starting September 1st via appointment at the Housing and Urban Agenda Office, or digitally through the municipal electronic office for those with an electronic certificate. Requirements include being of legal age, having all family members registered in Alcorcón, and meeting income limits set by individual calls.
