Alcoy City Council tenders sports facility renovations
The Alcoy City Council has launched tenders for the renovation of key sports facilities at the Francisco Laporta Municipal Sports Center.
One project involves the renovation of the athletics track pavement, with a budget of 222,006 euros including VAT. The work aims to replace the synthetic surface and repaint the markings for the six lanes to address wear and cracks caused by weather and continuous use. The project includes necessary steps to ensure the track obtains official certification from the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). This initiative stems from the 2024 Participatory Budgets.
A second tender focuses on the integral renovation of the artificial turf at the Aurelio Colomina football field. This project has a base budget of 309,012 euros including VAT and involves a lease-to-purchase agreement for the new turf. The works will include repairing the base and providing maintenance for five years. The renovation is intended to improve ball behavior and player safety by addressing surface deterioration.
