Alcoy officials accuse Valencian Generalitat of cutting industrial aid by 15%
The municipal government of Alcoy (Spain) has charged the Valencian regional administration with a “scam” after the Generalitat reduced by 15 % the subsidies previously granted for industrial park upgrades. The cut trims €85,000 from a €570,000 grant that had already funded works that are largely completed. Alcoy’s mayor, Toni Francés, and industry councillor Elisa Guillem said the reduction leaves a financial gap the town must cover with its own funds and likened the move to previous funding shortfalls. The regional Ministry of Industry maintains the reduction reflects a pending budgetary provision and does not affect all beneficiaries.
