Alcoy promotes Valencian-language reading at book fair

The Alcoy City Council has launched a campaign to promote reading in Valencian during the Fira del Llibre del 9 de Octubre. Held from October 8 to 11 in the Glorieta, the book fair aims to encourage reading among children, youth, and adults.

As part of the initiative, customers who purchase a book in Valencian will receive a commemorative tote bag and a bookmark. These items feature designs inspired by Jaume I and the slogan ‘El valencià viu si tu el parles’. Participating local bookstores include Detroit, Llorens, Natura, and Plantallibres. The event will also feature book signings and presentations by various authors, including Natàlia Gisbert, Clara Valls, Jordi Tormo, Lirios Bou, and Esteban Ferre.
