Alcoy to host Military Emergencies Unit equipment exhibition

The Alcoy City Council, the Defense Subdelegation of Alicante, and the Military Emergencies Unit (UME) are organizing a joint exhibition of specialized resources and capabilities. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 18, from 10:00 to 18:00 in Al-Azraq Square.

The exhibition aims to demonstrate the human and material resources available for responding to major disasters, including forest fires, floods, severe storms, and heavy snowfall. Featured equipment includes a command post, a fire engine, a snowplow, and specialized Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) tools for collapsed structures. Other displays will feature diving equipment, aerial and aquatic drones, vertical rescue gear, and tools for forest fire and flood intervention.

In addition to the public display, the event includes an educational component. Local schools will be informed so they can arrange visits to learn about the unit's functions and the importance of emergency preparedness and coordination.
