Alcázar de San Juan commemorates Santa María parish 800th anniversary

The Santa María la Mayor parish in Alcázar de San Juan celebrated its eighth centenary with the premiere of a videomapping spectacle titled ‘Luz y Fe en el tiempo’ (Light and Faith in Time). The audiovisual display projected onto the church facade traced eight centuries of history, highlighting key architectural evolutions and significant historical moments, such as the baptism of Miguel de Cervantes and the construction of the Virgin's chamber with its Baroque tiling.

The event was attended by the Mayor of Alcázar de San Juan, Rosa Melchor, the parish priest Francisco Javier Quevedo, and the Second Vice President of the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha, José Manuel Caballero. The project was funded by the regional government of Castilla-La Mancha as part of the commemorative programming for the temple's anniversary.
