Aldehuela de Yeltes begins festivals in honor of Cristo de La Laguna

Aldehuela de Yeltes has commenced its annual festivities in honor of Cristo de La Laguna. The celebrations began with a traditional procession of the icon to the Church of the Purísima, followed by an official opening speech by Mayor José Andrés Suárez Piña. This year's festivities also mark the 25th anniversary of the local group 'A Ti K. Te Importa'.

As part of the local programming, the municipality held the fifth edition of the 'Verbena Inclusiva' at the Plaza del Cristo de La Laguna. Organized by the departments of Festivals and Social Welfare, the event focused on barrier-free leisure for over 500 participants. The inclusive celebration featured adapted Latin dancing, live DJ sets, and musical performances with simultaneous sign language translation.

To support accessibility, the event provided specialized services including magnetic loops for hearing aids, sensory backpacks, anti-noise systems, and communication guides for deaf-blind individuals and neurodivergent people. Mayor Luis Yeray Gutiérrez highlighted the initiative as part of the municipality's commitment to equality and social coexistence.
