Aldi and Lidl price gap widens according to Worldpanel data
Data from Worldpanel by Numerator indicates that the price gap per unit between discounters Aldi and Lidl has expanded over a two-year period. The absolute difference in price per unit has grown from 10 to 15 pence. The report notes that these figures are derived from scanning consumer shopping baskets rather than shelf labels, meaning the data reflects both retailer pricing and consumer purchasing habits, such as the selection of premium or fresh products.
