Aldi and Lidl reduce chocolate Santa Claus prices in Germany

Discount retailers Aldi Nord and Lidl have reduced the price of their 110-gram chocolate Santa Claus figures to 99 cents, down from 1.69 euros the previous year. This represents a price reduction of over 41 percent. According to a sample by the Hamburg Consumer Advice Center, these prices have returned to 2024 levels after significant increases in 2025 for Aldi’s Wintertraum and Lidl’s Favorina brands.

Market trends vary among other brands. Lindt has lowered the price of its 40-gram figure to 2.29 euros, though this remains higher than the 1.99 euro price recorded in 2024. Conversely, prices for Milka and Kinder have increased. The 90-gram Milka Santa and the 110-gram Kinder figure both now cost 3.29 euros, up from 2.99 euros, marking a 10 percent increase.
