Aldi increases food redistribution to 10.9 million meals
Aldi has increased its annual food redistribution from 8.8 million to 10.9 million meals following a summer holiday donation drive. The initiative targeted charities, foodbanks, and community organisations across the UK, including specific contributions to the Isle of Wight and Devon.
Since 2019, Aldi has partnered with Neighbourly to redistribute surplus food from its stores. The company also collaborates with Company Shop to manage surplus from its regional distribution centres. These efforts aim to support families facing higher food costs during school holidays, particularly for children who may lose access to free school meals during the break.
