Aldi meat products linked to major manufacturers

Aldi's private label meat and sausage products are often manufactured by the same companies that produce well-known premium brands. For example, the brand ‘Gut Drei Eichen’ is primarily supplied by the Zur Mühlen Gruppe, which also produces Böklunder and Gutfried. The ‘Meine Metzgerei’ brand is largely supplied by the Tönnies-Gruppe.

Regarding animal welfare, Aldi has phased out meat from the lowest farming category (Haltungsform 1) for chilled meat and sausage products as of January 2025, excluding certain international specialties. Currently, more than 40 percent of Aldi Süd's chilled meat and sausage products come from higher farming categories 3, 4, and 5. The company aims to transition its entire chilled meat and sausage range to farming categories 3 and 4 by 2030.
