Aldi Nord and Freegal Music+ offer budget consumer options

Aldi Nord is set to sell the Workzone Bluetooth speaker (model ANS-25-256) starting October 8 for 9.99 euros. The compact device features IP67 water and dust resistance, an integrated microphone for hands-free calls, and includes a mounting clip and magnet. The product comes with a three-year manufacturer warranty.

As a low-cost alternative to premium music streaming services like Spotify, Freegal Music+ offers access to approximately 18 million songs through public library memberships. In Berlin, for example, a Vöbb library card costs 10 euros annually, making the effective monthly cost less than one euro. While the service provides legal MP3 downloads, users may encounter limitations such as a cap of five downloads per week, incomplete artist profiles, and less robust app functionality compared to major streaming platforms.
