Aldi Nord expands assortment and reduces meat prices
Aldi Nord is expanding its permanent assortment by adding six new private-label products designed to capitalize on current food trends. The expansion focuses heavily on the high-protein segment, including Cucina high-protein pasta and Landbeck high-protein salami snacks. Additionally, the retailer is introducing international convenience items such as neapolitan-style pizza from Pizz'ah and Mango Sticky Rice from Asia Green Garden to meet changing consumer preferences.
In a separate strategic move to maintain competitiveness against rivals like Lidl and Netto, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd have implemented permanent price reductions on approximately 20 meat products. Prices for various beef and pork items, including minced meat, steaks, and schnitzels, have been lowered by up to 9 percent. This pricing adjustment marks the second major reduction in the meat category this year as the discounters engage in intense price competition.
