Aldi Nord launches ultra‑cheap smoke detector and health gadgets in Germany

Aldi Nord Germany will sell the Workzone 5‑year smoke warning detector for €3.99 per unit starting 27 July. The compact, battery‑powered device mounts on the ceiling, includes installation hardware, self‑tests its functionality and is designed to warn occupants early in case of fire. It carries a three‑year manufacturer warranty and a lifetime of about five years.

From 23 July the retailer is also introducing three Ambiano health devices – a wrist‑type blood‑pressure monitor, a pulse‑oximeter with OLED display, and a combined ear‑ and forehead thermometer – each priced at €14.99. The blood‑pressure monitor stores up to 60 readings for four users and features a WHO‑based traffic‑light indicator. The pulse‑oximeter and thermometer offer multiple measurement modes and data storage aimed at regular home monitoring.
