Aldi Nord recalls cat food due to Salmonella risk

Aldi Nord has issued a recall for a specific batch of dry cat food due to potential Salmonella contamination. The affected product is ‘Cachet Premium Sensitive – reich an frischem Truthahn mit Lamm und Reis’ (rich in fresh turkey with lamb and rice), sold in 800g bags.

The contamination was identified by the supplier, Petcom Tierernährung GmbH, during internal quality controls. The specific batch affected has a best-before date of November 21, 2027. The recall is limited to this specific product and does not apply to the entire Cachet range.

Pet owners are advised not to feed the product to their cats. Symptoms of Salmonella infection in cats can include diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and loss of appetite, which may lead to dehydration. Customers can return the affected bags to Aldi Nord stores for a full refund, even without a receipt.
