Aldi private labels compete with premium brands in quality tests
Aldi's private label brands, particularly the cosmetics line Lacura, are gaining attention for their ability to compete with premium brands in both appearance and performance. Social media users have identified Lacura's spa line as potential ‘dupes’ for the luxury brand Rituals, noting similarities in scent, color, and packaging.
Independent testing by organizations such as Stiftung Warentest and Öko-Test has frequently awarded high marks to Aldi's house brands. For instance, Lacura Med hand cream outperformed the pharmacy brand La Roche-Posay in environmental substance testing, and certain Aldi deodorants received positive ratings against major drugstore competitors. The retailer's assortment is composed of approximately 90% private labels, many of which are produced in the same facilities as well-known name brands.
