Aldi updates Tandil detergent packaging and manufacturing details
Aldi has updated the packaging for its Tandil laundry detergent brand, transitioning to grey boxes made of 92 percent recycled polypropylene. Developed with Interzero, the new packaging for 3-in-1 Active Caps and Color Caps aims to save significant amounts of new material annually. The grey color is a result of using mixed recycled plastic sources.
Investigations into the Tandil brand reveal that different manufacturers produce various products under the label. Tandil Ultra liquid detergent is produced by Dalli, while Tandil Aktiv powder is manufactured by Chemolux. The Tandil Eco line is supplied by ECC Ecological Cleaning and Care GmbH, a member of the Werner & Mertz Group.
In testing conducted by Stiftung Warentest in early 2025, Tandil Ultra liquid detergent received a 'good' rating. Tandil products also offer significant cost savings compared to premium brands; for instance, Tandil powder and liquid variants cost approximately 16 cents per wash, whereas Persil alternatives ranged from 27 to 34 cents per wash.
