Aldo Iacomelli appointed president of RetiAmbiente
Aldo Iacomelli has been appointed as the new president of RetiAmbiente, the company responsible for waste management in the Toscana Costa area, including the provinces of Pisa, Livorno, Lucca, and Massa-Carrara. The appointment follows the departure of former president Daniele Fortini, who led the company to become the sixth-largest national player in urban waste collection and disposal.
Iacomelli, a chemical engineer with expertise in energy and environmental public services, currently serves as the sole administrator of Aamps, the waste company for the Municipality of Livorno. The new board of directors includes Ida Di Crosta as vice president, alongside directors Sandra Munno, Giuseppe Maurizio Gatti, and new member Gianluca Brizzi.
Regional leadership has emphasized that Iacomelli’s tenure must focus on implementing the regional circular economy plan. Key priorities include developing local infrastructure to process waste within the territory to avoid the high costs of transporting waste elsewhere, thereby protecting families and businesses from rising tariffs.
