Aldo Leiva defends use of official vehicles after major accident

Deputy Aldo Leiva has faced scrutiny regarding the use of official municipal vehicles following a serious accident on National Route 11. A Toyota Camry, assigned to Leiva’s son, Mayor Mauro Leiva, was completely destroyed after a head-on collision with a truck on the Tragadero River bridge.

Leiva defended the use of the vehicle, stating he has nothing to hide and that the assignment was transparent. He characterized the legislative inquiries as a political maneuver by the government to distract from economic issues. Leiva further alleged that provincial officials under Governor Zdero also utilize official vehicles for personal use.
