Aldo Ossola memorabilia auctioned to fund Masnago basketball court

The association ‘Il Basket Siamo Noi’ has launched a four-stage charity auction to fund the final stages of the Masnago outdoor basketball court renovation and a future exhibition space. The initiative aims to raise the remaining 8,000 euros needed to complete the 46,000 euro budget.

The first item up for auction is a pair of Diadora game shorts (number 10) worn by legendary player Aldo Ossola during the 1979/1980 season. The winning bidder will act as the ‘official custodian’ of the item, which will be donated to the future Pallacanestro Varese exhibition space alongside a commemorative plaque featuring both the player’s name and the donor’s name.

The auction for the shorts opened on Wednesday, August 12, and will close on Tuesday, August 18, at 12:00. The starting bid is set at 250 euros with a minimum increment of 25 euros. Bids must be submitted via email. The completion of the court, which includes new flooring and graphics, is expected to lead to an inauguration on September 13.
