Aldona Machnowska-Góra claims she was a scapegoat in Warsaw resignation
Former Warsaw Vice President Aldona Machnowska-Góra has spoken out regarding the circumstances of her resignation in July following a scandal at Szpital Południowy. She claims she was treated as a ‘scapegoat’ and that her departure was expected by Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski.
In an interview, Machnowska-Góra revealed that Trzaskowski told her, ‘Aldona, you were unlucky to be on the supervisory board,’ during a meeting prior to the official announcement of her resignation. She maintains that she is not responsible for the irregularities at the hospital and argues that personnel decisions should have been delayed until official audits and investigations were completed.
Machnowska-Góra noted that as a member of the hospital's supervisory board, she was unaware of specific issues such as high physician salaries, learning about them through media reports. While she resigned, she described the circumstances as forced by the political situation.
