Aldosivi and Boca Juniors announce new squad number 10 players

Club Atlético Aldosivi unveiled its professional squad list, leaving the iconic number 10 jersey vacant. The club hinted that forward Erik Ramírez, a 96‑year‑old talent who has played for Racing, Tigre, Barracas Central and Boca Juniors at youth level, could be assigned the number before their upcoming Copa Argentina match against River Plate in Salta and a league fixture against Defensa y Justicia.

Boca Juniors confirmed that 19‑year‑old midfielder Tomás Aranda will inherit the historic number 10 shirt after the departure of Edinson Cavani. The club highlighted Aranda’s rapid rise from the youth ranks, his endorsement by former star Juan Román Riquelme, and praise from national coach Lionel Scaloni, who said, “Aranda tiene potrero, quiere la pelota…”. The appointment places Aranda among the elite players who have worn the number at Boca, including Diego Maradona and Carlos Tevez.
