Aleš Hojs faces enforcement over unpaid corruption fine
The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK) has filed a proposal for enforcement against former Interior Minister Aleš Hojs due to an unpaid fine. The fine stems from a conflict of interest regarding compensation for unused leave requested at the end of the previous government's mandate in May 2022.
Between November 2023 and February 2024, the KPK issued eight misdemeanor decisions against former ministers who failed to recuse themselves from decisions concerning their own leave compensation. While several former ministers, including Jože Podgoršek, Boštjan Koritnik, Simona Kustec, Andrej Šircelj, and Zdravko Počivalšek, have already paid their fines, Hojs has not.
The enforcement process for the 400 euro fine will now be handled by the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
