Aleema Khan detained and sent to Kot Lakhpat Jail

Police in Lahore have detained Aleema Khan, sister of former Pakistani Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan. She was taken into custody while leaving her home in Upper Mall and subsequently transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail.

According to reports, the detention was ordered by Lahore Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO), 1960. The order authorizes her detention or arrest for a period of 30 days. The Deputy Commissioner's office also issued an arrest directive for Muhammad Amir.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party stated that the detention occurred amid increased pressure on the party ahead of a planned protest on September 27. The upcoming demonstration aims to demand the release of Imran Khan from prison and advocate for the protection of the constitution.
