Goiás Legislature approves cultural contest for public school students
The Legislative Assembly of Goiás (Alego) has approved the creation of a cultural contest titled ‘Alego: Participar é Transformar’ in a second and definitive vote. The initiative, proposed by Deputy Bruno Peixoto, is designed for students within the public school system of Goiás.
The annual competition will feature categories including drawing, photography, writing, and video. It aims to foster citizenship, critical thinking, and creativity while helping young people understand the role of public institutions in a democracy. Themes for each edition will address contemporary social issues such as human rights and social responsibility.
Participation is free, and the project includes provisions for accessibility to ensure students with disabilities can participate. The contest will be funded through Alego’s own budget, with the possibility of institutional partnerships.
