Alejandra Anguiano Leads Expansion of Women’s Libre Centers and Faces Electoral Ruling in Michoacán

The Michoacán State Electoral Tribunal ruled that no evidence was found of anticipatory campaign activities by Alejandra Anguiano González, the state secretary of Substantive Equality and Women’s Development, dismissing allegations of misuse of public resources or personal image promotion.

Meanwhile, the state government has opened several new Centro Libre facilities, including in Hidalgo, Ario de Rosales and other municipalities, offering integrated services such as legal, psychological, social work, and economic‑autonomy workshops. Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla reported that the Hidalgo centre has already served over 2,000 women, while the Ario centre has assisted more than 500 women with over 2,000 specialized services.

Additional women‑focused initiatives were announced across Mexico: the National Weavers Activation arrived in Pachuca, the municipality of Culiacán granted a 145,000‑peso loan to the women’s group Fuerza Rosa, and the Ahome municipal women’s secretariat launched the “Soy Valiosa, Estoy Segura” program in rehabilitation centers. The Instituto Municipal de las Mujeres in Saltillo also delivered workplace‑harassment and financial‑wellness workshops for employees of local companies.
