Alejandro Arias Monge and Jonathan Pérez Méndez face key judicial hearings

Alejandro Arias Monge, known as “Diablo,” and Jonathan Pérez Méndez, known as “Tan,” are undergoing key judicial hearings in San José, Costa Rica. The proceedings, held at the Specialized Jurisdiction in Organized Crime (JEDO), aim to determine if the case should be transferred to the specialized organized crime court. Both individuals are currently facing charges related to homicide.

Arias Monge is also wanted by United States authorities. Following the hearings, he is expected to potentially meet with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Both suspects remain in custody at the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) facilities under heavy security.
