Alejandro Balde faces uncertain future at FC Barcelona

Alejandro Balde is facing a difficult period at FC Barcelona, having fallen down the hierarchy under manager Hansi Flick. Despite previously being seen as a long-term starter, the defender has struggled to secure playing time due to recurring physical issues and increased competition.

Flick has prioritized other options for the left-back position, including Joao Cancelo and the unexpected rise of Xavi Espart, who has performed impressively. Balde has largely been relegated to the bench, seeing minimal minutes in recent matches.

As his role within the squad diminishes, transfer interest has emerged. Liverpool FC is reportedly monitoring the situation and may consider a move for the player during the January transfer window. While Balde has a contract until 2028 with a high release clause, his lack of playing time could influence potential negotiations.
