Manchester United targets Barcelona players in transfer developments

Manchester United is reportedly monitoring two high-profile transfer situations involving FC Barcelona players. The club is showing firm interest in left-back Alejandro Balde for the January window. Balde, 22, has seen his playing time diminish significantly under manager Hansi Flick, totaling only 12 minutes this season as he falls behind João Cancelo and Xavi Espart in the pecking order. While Balde previously resisted a move, his lack of minutes may force a reassessment of his future at Barcelona.

Separately, Manchester United is involved in a developing saga regarding 15-year-old talent JJ Gabriel. The youngster, widely considered a top prospect, has reportedly requested to be de-registered from United. Because Gabriel holds an EU passport, he will be eligible to move to a European club and appoint an official agent when he turns 16 on October 6. While Chelsea is a primary English suitor, reports suggest Gabriel’s camp is leaning toward a move to Spain, with both Barcelona and Real Madrid having held discussions regarding his signing. Other major clubs, including PSG and several German sides, have also expressed interest.
