Alejandro Domínguez proposes national inclusive education reform

Federal Deputy Alejandro Domínguez Domínguez of the PRI has introduced a legislative initiative to strengthen the national framework for inclusive education in Mexico. The proposal seeks to reform the General Law of Education and the General Law of the Rights of Children and Adolescents to ensure that students with disabilities or specific educational needs can access, participate in, and complete their studies without discrimination.

The initiative aims to establish the National Inclusive Education Strategy as a guiding instrument for national policy. Key components of the reform include requiring periodic diagnoses of learning barriers, strengthening multidisciplinary teams, promoting accessible materials and assistive technologies, and implementing permanent evaluation mechanisms to support diverse student populations.
