Tom Cruise to star in Alejandro G. Iñárritu film ‘Digger’

Director Alejandro G. Iñárritu is returning with a new original film titled ‘Digger’, starring Tom Cruise in the lead role. The film marks the first collaboration between the Oscar-winning director and Cruise.

In the film, Cruise portrays Digger Rockwell, an extremely powerful businessman who attempts to act as a savior for humanity after his industrial empire triggers a potential global catastrophe. The production features a notable cast including Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons.

‘Digger’ was filmed entirely in VistaVision and is scheduled for an international release in cinemas and IMAX starting September 30, 2026, with North American release following on October 2, 2026. The world premiere is set to take place at a Royal Film Performance gala in London's Leicester Square on September 22.
