Alejandro Moreno files UN complaint against Mexican government

Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, the national leader of the PRI, has filed a formal complaint against the Mexican government at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The complaint, addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, alleges systematic violations of civil and political rights by the Morena administration.

Moreno Cárdenas claims the government is breaching international commitments, including the UN Charter, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the Palermo Convention. Specific allegations include the censorship and political persecution of opponents, the publication of lists targeting journalists and critics, and the mandatory collection of biometric data for telephone registration.

Furthermore, the PRI leader accused the government of collusion between authorities and organized crime cartels, the erosion of the democratic and judicial systems, and the undermining of electoral institutions like the INE.
