Alejandro Moreno to visit San Luis Potosí for PRI event

Alejandro “Alito” Moreno Cárdenas, the national leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), is scheduled to visit San Luis Potosí on Wednesday, August 26. During the visit, Moreno Cárdenas will lead activities with party members and various social sectors.

A central event of the visit will be the swearing-in ceremony for approximately 100 men and women joining the “Defensores de México” program. This initiative aims to incorporate youth, women, and men—including both party members and citizens—into local and federal districts to strengthen the defense of democracy, institutions, and the rule of law.

Hugo Contreras Cepeda, the PRI's general delegate in San Luis Potosí, noted that while the program helps the party connect with potential future candidates, official candidate definitions for the 2027 elections will not occur until established by electoral legislation.
