Alejandro Nicola investigation expands amid abuse allegations in Villa Carlos Paz

A judicial investigation into priest Alejandro Nicola continues to expand in Villa Carlos Paz, Argentina, following allegations of sexual abuse against minors. Nine formal complaints have been filed involving children between the ages of 3 and 6 who attended the Instituto Parroquial Bernardo D'Elíade.

Testimonies from parents describe children experiencing physical symptoms, nightmares, and distress. One mother reported that the priest allegedly took advantage of distractions during physical education classes. In response to the allegations, the Archdiocese of Córdoba removed Nicola from his position as director approximately three months ago, though the Archdiocese initially characterized his departure as voluntary.

In a separate but related development at the same institution, a maintenance worker was found dead on the premises during school hours. While the cause of death remains undetermined, the discovery occurred at the Centro Parroquial de Educación y Cultura Margarita A. de Paz, the same establishment where the investigation into Nicola is centered. Local authorities and medical personnel are currently investigating the circumstances of the death.
