Alejandro Rojas Garcia convicted in Minnesota child pornography case

A federal jury in Minnesota has convicted 65-year-old Alejandro Rojas Garcia of attempted production of child pornography. Garcia, a Mexican national residing in the U.S. illegally, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The investigation, initiated by the Stillwater Police Department in April 2024, followed reports that Garcia had sexually assaulted two sisters under the age of 13. Prosecutors established that Garcia was a trusted family friend who provided childcare at his apartment.

A search of the residence uncovered multiple storage devices containing child sexual abuse material and several hidden cameras, including five located in the bathroom. Investigators also discovered a microSD card containing illegal material hidden inside a crucifix in Garcia's bedroom.
