Alek Thomas helps Dodgers defeat Pirates

Alek Thomas contributed to the Los Angeles Dodgers' 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in his first game since being called up from triple-A Oklahoma City. Thomas, a 26-year-old outfielder previously with the Arizona Diamondbacks, was brought up to fill the center field position following a hand fracture sustained by Andy Pages.

During the game, Thomas recorded an RBI single in the fourth inning and demonstrated defensive hustle by turning a potential groundout into a two-bagger after an error by Pirates first baseman Rafael Flores Jr. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts praised Thomas as a “great teammate” and a “really good defender.”
