Alek Thomas makes Los Angeles Dodgers debut

Outfielder Alek Thomas made his debut for the Los Angeles Dodgers this past weekend following a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks in May. Thomas, 26, was initially assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to provide organizational depth in center field.

His opportunity to join the major league roster arrived after teammate Andy Pages sustained a fractured left hand during a series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Thomas has since recorded a hit and an RBI in each of his first three games with the Dodgers.

Thomas' wife, Kailey McCaffrey, reacted to the rapid professional changes on social media, noting that the whirlwind series of events, including the trade and recent promotion, was something she ‘didn’t have on my 2026 bingo card.’
