Aleks Syntek highlights violence against musicians and industry tensions

Mexican singer-songwriter Aleks Syntek has used social media to highlight the violence and insecurity facing the musical community in Mexico. In a recent post, Syntek claimed that musicians, friends, and staff members have been killed for items such as guitars and cables, calling for greater safety so artists can perform their work.

While Syntek did not provide specific names, dates, or locations regarding these alleged killings, his comments reflect ongoing concerns regarding the theft of instruments and equipment during performances. This follows previous statements from the artist regarding violence against the musical sector.

Additionally, Syntek addressed recent tensions within the industry following comments from Venezuelan singer Ricardo Montaner. Responding to Montaner’s suggestion to be more accepting of diverse musical genres, Syntek clarified that his criticisms are not directed at specific rhythms, but rather at the lack of respect for family-friendly airtime and the spread of unproven falsehoods in the media. He concluded by expressing concern for the mental health and culture of the artistic community in Latin America.
