Aleksa Bečić warns of organized crime efforts to demotivate voters

Aleksa Bečić, president of the Democrats party, stated during a membership re-evaluation visit to Pljevlja that Montenegro has become a free country where citizens can express national, religious, and ideological feelings freely. He emphasized that the party has fought for improved living standards, stronger institutions, and the removal of criminal elements through processes such as vetting.

Bečić warned that organized crime is employing a strategy to demotivate free citizens ahead of upcoming elections. He claimed that these groups aim to create a sense of dissatisfaction and apathy to prevent people from voting, as they cannot win new votes through traditional means. He also noted that opponents of anti-mafia laws and vetting processes are those attempting to slow down institutional reforms.
