Aleksandar Pavlovic rejects €100m Manchester City move

Aleksandar Pavlovic rejected a potential transfer to Manchester City during the summer window, despite the Premier League club being willing to pay up to €100 million for the midfielder. Manchester City had been monitoring the Bayern Munich player since March, with sporting director Hugo Viana leading the pursuit to bolster the midfield following the departure of Rodri to Barcelona.

Pavlovic, who is under contract with Bayern Munich until June 2029, chose to remain with his hometown club. He has been a significant part of Bayern’s long-term plans and expressed a deep emotional attachment to the team, having joined their youth academy at age seven.

While City ultimately secured the signings of Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille and Enzo Fernández from Chelsea, reports indicate that Pavlovic was a primary target and was discussed internally before the other two players.
