According to a column by Dmitry Bavyrin, Vucic’s resignation is viewed as a strategic move to maintain control within the political system. The analysis posits that Vucic intends to transition from the presidency to the role of prime minister, thereby remaining the central figure of power.

The report emphasizes that the future of Vucic’s political influence depends heavily on the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The ruling Serbian Progressive Party must secure a victory to ensure Vucic retains his position within the system.
