Regional reports highlight child protection and digital safety concerns

In Montenegro, the NGO Center for Children's Rights has raised concerns regarding the handling of a criminal report involving suspected violence against a three-year-old. The organization claims that despite providing video evidence, messages, and medical documentation on September 4, authorities waited four days to order a phone examination and have failed to secure digital evidence promptly.

In a separate case in Bijelo Polje, a mother is protesting outside the courts because a convicted sexual predator has not yet been sent to serve a five-year prison sentence. While a court decision was made in August, legal procedures regarding appeals have delayed the execution of the sentence.

In Croatia, research by the Center for a Safer Internet indicates a rise in electronic violence. The study found that 22.6 percent of children from single-parent families were both victims and perpetrators of digital violence. Additionally, over 10 percent of children in single-parent households spend more than eight hours online daily.

In Serbia, educational protocols outline the mandatory procedures schools must follow when child abuse or neglect is suspected, involving teachers, police, and social work centers to ensure immediate intervention and protection.
