The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade has released a comprehensive analysis regarding the alleged use of a sound cannon during a student protest in Belgrade on March 15, 2025. The investigation concluded that no acoustic device, such as an LRAD, was utilized during the event.

According to the prosecutor's findings, the sudden panic and movement of citizens along Kralja Milana Street was a chain reaction triggered by security personnel activating a 'withdrawal protocol' near the National Assembly. The analysis also determined that medical complaints reported by protesters, including dizziness and nausea, were not caused by any sonic weapon.

Furthermore, the prosecutor's office stated that several video recordings circulating on social media, which featured a distinct 'thud' sound, were digitally manipulated. The authorities have announced they will pursue criminal charges against individuals identified as having intentionally spread these false claims and disinformation.

President Aleksandar Vučić supported these findings, characterizing the claims of a sound cannon as an 'ordinary lie' and asserting that the audio in viral videos was artificially added to mislead the public.
