Aleksandar Vučić promises to remove political influence from schools

During a pre-election campaign event in Zaječar, Aleksandar Vučić, leader of the ‘Aleksandar Vučić – United Serbia’ list, pledged that schools and faculties will no longer serve as hubs for political parties. He stated that educational institutions must remain places for learning rather than municipal party offices, promising to protect the future of children from political interference.

Vučić also addressed pensioners, stating that pensions would grow alongside wages and that Serbia would experience rapid economic growth. During his speech, he criticized the Student List, claiming its supporters include regional political figures such as Milo Đukanović and Albin Kurti, and accused the group's leadership of promoting views that would not be taught in Serbian schools.

In a separate development, Ana Brnabić, a member of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, criticized Ilija Srdanović, the leader of the Student List, for declining a debate invitation from Radio Beograd with Vučić. Brnabić argued that Srdanović’s refusal to engage directly with Vučić suggests the party lacks a concrete program or plan to present to voters.
