Aleksandar Vučić seeks U.S. support ahead of Serbia's upcoming elections

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is intensifying his campaign ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for October or November. He has been distancing Serbia from Russia and courting the United States, highlighting a new strategic dialogue opened by the U.S. State Department. The dialogue, launched by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, includes a memorandum covering energy security, technology cooperation and space programs.

Domestically, the pre‑election atmosphere is highly charged, with widespread political advertising, student‑led posters, and rallies organized by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS). The campaign has seen extensive use of slogans, stickers and public displays supporting the ruling party, while opposition groups also mobilize across the country.
