Galatasaray transfers face scrutiny over low scoring impact

Galatasaray's recent high-value summer transfers have faced scrutiny following a lack of direct goal contributions. The club spent over 78 million euros on five key players: Rafael Leao (38 million euros), Aleksey Batrakov (25 million euros), Deniz Gül (10 million euros), Lesley Ugochukwu, and El Chadaille Bitshiabu. In their initial appearances across the Süper Lig and UEFA Champions League, these players have yet to record a goal, with Batrakov providing the only direct contribution via one assist.

Aleksey Batrakov, who joined from Lokomotiv Moscow, recently spoke about his adaptation to Istanbul, noting the challenges of moving after 15 years at one club and the high level of public attention he receives in Turkey compared to Moscow. He expressed excitement regarding his debut in the Champions League.

In separate transfer news, Trabzonspor is reportedly targeting Portuguese midfielder Gedson Fernandes, currently with Spartak Moscow, to strengthen their squad during the mid-season transfer window. Fernandes has reportedly shown interest in returning to the Süper Lig.
