ALEMS approves expansion of rights for judicial employees

The Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul (ALEMS) has approved, in its first vote, Bill 134/2026 proposed by the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJMS). The legislation aims to expand functional rights and guarantees for judicial branch employees.

Key provisions include the creation of a special work schedule for employees who care for persons with disabilities and an expansion of education assistance for dependents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Additionally, the bill proposes the creation of leave for employees required to attend training courses for public service examinations.

The proposal must now undergo a second vote in the plenary. Under existing national frameworks, such measures allow for a reduction of up to 50% of the workweek without salary loss for employees with autism or those responsible for dependents with the condition, provided the necessity is confirmed by an official medical board.
