Alen Rustemovski wins historic bronze at European Boxing Championships

Macedonian boxer Alen Rustemovski has secured a bronze medal in the 60kg category at the European Senior Boxing Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. This achievement marks the first time North Macedonia has won a senior European boxing medal since 2008.

Following his success, Rustemovski was recognized by the Ministry of Sport and the Olympic Committee of North Macedonia. Minister Borko Ristovski announced that Rustemovski has attained the status of ‘world-class athlete,’ which entitles him to state financial compensation. Additionally, the Olympic Committee expressed its commitment to supporting the Boxing Federation to further develop the sport nationally.

This bronze medal is Rustemovski’s second major achievement in less than a month, following a bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy. His performance has also positioned him as a candidate for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
