Alentejo Litoral communities host summer festivals and local initiatives

Various community events and local initiatives are taking place in the Alentejo Litoral region. In Santa Susana, the traditional Festa de Agosto returns on August 14 and 15, featuring musical performances by artists such as Tozé Pratas, Dina Teresa, and Eduardo Santana. Similarly, the Festas de Santa Maria in Torrão will be held on August 14 and 15, including a ‘Noite Branca’ event with DJs.

In Sines, International Youth Day was celebrated with sports and recreational activities along Avenida Vasco da Gama, including a buggy experience and snorkeling. Additionally, the Municipality of Sines announced that activity notebooks will be provided to all students enrolled in the 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education for the 2026/2027 school year.

The Municipality of Alcácer do Sal has issued safety recommendations regarding solar eclipse observation, advising the use of certified ISO 12312-2 eyewear and warning against using sunglasses or telescopes without proper filters. Meanwhile, Montevil is scheduled to host a ‘Best of 80’s, 90’s & 00’s’ dance event on August 22.
