Alentejo livestock experts to discuss biosecurity and animal welfare
A technical session focused on extensive livestock farming in the Alentejo region will take place on October 27 at the National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research (INIAV) in Elvas. Organized by InnovPlantProtect (InPP) and INIAV, the event aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and the practical needs of livestock producers.
Key topics include the evaluation of extensive production systems, the implementation of biosecurity measures, animal health, and improving reproductive performance. Experts from various polytechnic universities will present on subjects such as extensive grazing, sanitary prevention challenges in extensive systems, and the reproductive efficiency and health of calves in beef cattle operations.
